The Android package is signed with the same key from 3.0.0 onward, so a phone installs a new version straight over the old one. Its certificate digest is 9fd554575a253ba9a98fec403e45a72a8deb0b066ff70e505a60d6393fb45e31.

FAQ

Check the installation details.

Does KERNEL PANIC support macOS?

There is no macOS build. The macOS Story act is content and plays on Android, Linux and Windows.

Does it support controllers?

Yes. v4.0.0 has controller-first gamepad navigation, remapping, stick calibration and device-aware prompts on desktop and Console. Android touch is supported; Android gamepads are not claimed as verified.

Can I move a save between phone and PC?

Yes. The game includes copy/paste save export and import for progress, records, bestiary, programs and achievements.

Does updating erase my save?

No. Save data is stored separately from the executable. Replacing the Linux or Windows binary keeps it, and the Android package installs over 3.0.0 as an update.

I am on 2.5.0 or older on Android. Can I update?

No. The original signing key was lost, so 3.0.0 onward uses a new one and Android refuses the update. Export your progress first, uninstall, install this, then import.

Is the source available?

Yes, on GitHub. Version 4.x is source available — source code publicly accessible for study, auditing and contribution. Releases up to and including v3.2.0 are MIT and that grant stands.
